"Night Chairs", 24 x 18, acrylic on canvas NightScapes I've been suffering from insomnia lately, so I decided I may as well make good use of the time. I've been out, observing the different colors of the street lights, the commercial lighting, and of course, neon. In the city there's usually an ambiant light from the sky... sometimes it's blue, as in these first paintings, but often it's a light mauve reflecting off the high fog cover. And then there's the issue of shadows: they come in different colors, from multiple angles and often cross each other.... all in all, an interesting visual puzzle. Here's a few... (more to come.)
